Keep Kind Intentions

Do the Kind Deeds

Doing is a quantum leap from imagining.
- Barbara Sher

Having kind intentions is worthless if we don’t actually follow through and do the kind deeds. Doing is truly a quantum leap from imagining - especially when it comes to kindness.

Kind deeds provide immediate feedback and move a situation from theory to practical reality. We learn from kind deeds about what the other person really wants - or doesn’t want.

Sometimes kind deeds are wasted on others. That does not make the deed pointless - it just means that either our kind intentions were off base, or the other person simply didn’t want kindness from us - or perhaps anyone.

Kind deeds are contagious. If you stop and hold the door for someone, they will often hold the door for the next person. This seems like a tiny example - but it actually scales for all types of different kind deeds.

Accepting someone else’s kindness can also be a kind deed in and of itself. For example, acting excited for a birthday gift you didn’t really want is a way of appreciating someone’s effort, rather than rejecting them based on the transactional value of the gift.

Kind deeds are usually situational based and can move quickly from intention to action. In other words, if the kind deed crosses your mind, then likely it’s best to do it right then and there! Don’t over think it.

Keeping Kind Intentions is critical to reaching your ROCKET Goals - but intentions alone are not enough. Translate those kind intentions into kind deeds!
