Keep Kind Intentions

Make Great Stories

"When in doubt,
do what makes for a better story."
- Zach Progrob

Kindness is not meant to be a boring thing we do out of begrudging duty. Don’t give people your stale crumbs of kindness and expect anything interesting to happen. Put some thought and creativity into your moments of kindness. Not only will the kindness come through, but your thoughtfulness will leave a lasting impression.

Here are five ways to infuse kindness with creativity and make lasting stories.

1. Personalized Random Acts: Instead of generic acts of kindness, tailor them to the recipient's interests or needs. For example, if you know a coworker loves a specific type of tea, surprise them with a rare blend.

2. Kindness Scavenger Hunts: Create a series of small kind acts or uplifting messages hidden around a person's usual environment, leading to a final surprise or gift.

3. Skills-Based Volunteering: Use your unique talents creatively to help others. A graphic designer could create free logos for local non-profits, or a coder could build a website for a community organization.

4. Collaborative Kindness Projects: Initiate group projects that spread kindness, like a community mural with positive messages or a neighborhood "kindness garden" where people plant flowers for others to enjoy.

5. Kindness Through Art: Express kindness through various art forms. Write personalized poems for friends, create small paintings with encouraging messages to give away, or perform surprise musical serenades for loved ones.

Kindness shouldn’t ever feel like a chore.
