Be the Kindest You You Ever Knew

Gratitude, Not Bad-itude

Sometimes the person we are the least kind to is the person in the mirror. Today we called in ChatGPT and Dr. Seuss to give us to give us 10 tips for showing kindness to yourself.

1. Talk Kindly to Yourself
Speak to yourself in a way that's quite swell,
Like you would to a friend who's feeling unwell.
Let your inner voice sing, not be gruff,
Be kind to yourself when things get tough!

2. Practise Gratitude
Think of the good, not just the bad-itude,
Make a big list, show some gratitude!
For every little thing, be it big or small,
Find the happy, find it all!

3. Perform Acts of Kindness to Others
A smile, a wave, or a place in line,
These little acts are oh-so fine!
Be kind to others, it’s a great thing to do,
It makes them feel good and you’ll feel good too!

4. Reflect Daily
Each day, take a moment, take time to think,
Write your thoughts down with paper and ink.
Reflect on your feelings, the ups and the downs,
Turn your day's frowns into crowns.

5. Focus on Self-Care
Take care of yourself, it's a must, you see,
A healthy breakfast, some exercise, a cup of tea.
Do things you love, find joy in your day,
Self-care's the key to keep troubles at bay.

6. Be Responsible for Your Wellbeing
If stress knocks on your door, don’t invite it for dinner!
Choose healthier ways to feel like a winner.
A treat now and then is perfectly fine,
But don’t let stress dictate how you dine.

7. Invest in Your Interests
Draw, paint, or kick a ball,
Do what you love, big or small.
In your hobbies, find your fun,
Under the stars, moon, or sun.

8. Practise Mindfulness
Be in the moment, right here, right now,
Don’t worry about the future, or the past's furrowed brow.
Mindfulness is like a game, quite fun,
It’s about being present, under the moon or sun.

9. Spend Time in Nature
In nature’s arms, where the wild things play,
Spend some time each and every day.
By rivers, lakes, where ducks like to quack,
It's calming and soothing, that’s a fact!

10. Think of the Opportunities
Life’s a canvas, so bright and so vast,
Think of the future, not just the past.
See opportunities, in every nook and cranny,
Make your life story, big and uncanny!
