Remember Your Future Self

Building Your Foundations

“If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.”
― Henry David Thoreau

Closing the gap between visions of castles in the air and grounded reality has been the subject of endless articles, systems and goal-setting seminars. Remembering Your Future Self is the first step in forging that vision into reality.

1. Remember Your Future Self
 - Visualize Daily: Start each day by vividly remembering your future self and the life you desire. Feel the emotions associated with achieving your goals.

 - Write Future Letters: Regularly write letters from your future self, describing your achievements and the steps you took to get there.

2. Own Your ONE Thing
 - Identify Your Key Priority: Determine the most crucial goal that will drive you towards your vision. Focus intensely on this ONE thing.

 - Eliminate Distractions: Ruthlessly eliminate tasks and activities that do not align with your key priority.

3. Celebrate Change
   - Embrace Adaptability: View change as an essential part of progress. Be ready to pivot and adapt your plans as needed.

 - Acknowledge Progress: Regularly recognize and celebrate even the smallest steps forward. This builds momentum and keeps you motivated.

4. Keep Kind Intentions
   - Self-Compassion: Be kind to yourself during setbacks. Use challenges as learning opportunities rather than sources of self-criticism.

 - Support Others: Foster a supportive environment by helping others achieve their goals. Collaboration and kindness amplify collective success.

5. Engage with Exponential Effort
   - Maximize Productivity: Use techniques like time-blocking, the Pomodoro technique, or deep work sessions to enhance productivity.

 - Push Your Limits: Regularly challenge yourself to go beyond your comfort zone. Embrace the mindset of relentless effort and perseverance.

6. Transform Time with Your Team
 - Leverage Collaboration: Work closely with a team of like-minded individuals. Share goals, strategies, and progress to keep each other accountable.

 - Seek Mentorship: Engage with mentors who can provide guidance, wisdom, and support. Learn from their experiences to accelerate your progress.
