The Physics of "Just Start"

How to Overcome Limbic Friction

In the ROCKET Goals methodology, the most dangerous phase of flight is the first ten seconds. This is where the force of gravity is strongest, and momentum is zero. It requires significantly more kinetic and psychological energy to move a stationary object than to accelerate a moving one.

Neuroscientist Andrew Huberman calls this "Limbic Friction." It is the neural grind between your prefrontal cortex (which wants to plan and act) and your autonomic nervous system (which wants to rest). Most people interpret this friction as a lack of "motivation." It isn't. It is simply a physics problem. We are constantly fighting the gravity of the comfort zone.

Steve Jobs understood that normal physics didn't apply to ambition. He utilized a "Reality Distortion Field," convincing himself and his team that impossible timelines were immutable facts. By refusing to acknowledge the possibility of delay, he forced ignition through sheer will. Similarly, Elon Musk operates on "First Principles," stripping away the analogy of "how it's usually done" to find the raw physics of "how it can be done now."

The following Rocket Prompts will not be activated as a pondering consultant; but instead are poised as an explosive catalyst. We are using prompts that simulate the high-stakes environment of a SpaceX launch room, or the all-in reality distortion of Steve Jobs. We will not ask "how" to start. We will calculate the "Escape Velocity" required to leave your hesitation behind and engage the thrusters now!
